The place of worship known as “Girija” or “Maa Biraja Devi” is where the navel of Goddess Girija is believed to have fallen. She is also known as “Trishakti Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati” and is worshipped with her consort Lord Shiva, who is referred to as “Lord Jagannath.” The temple is dedicated to the deity Durga Devi, who is worshipped as Girija (Viraja) and is believed to bless devotees with creativity while eliminating mental ailments and enmity. It is also believed that she bestows wealth and prosperity upon her devotees.
