The left cheek of Goddess Manikyamba is believed to have fallen at this location, making it her abode, and she is worshipped here as Manikyamba along with Lord Bhairava (Lord Shiva) as Bheemeshwara. Draksharamam is one of the Maha Shakthi Peetha, one of the five Pancharamams, along with Amararamam, Ksheeraramam, Somaramam, and Bhimaramam. The deity of Goddess Manikyamba, holding an “atma lingam” in her hand, is believed to cleanse the body and soul of her devotees, bestow blessings for early marriages, childless couples, wealth, and prosperity.
